EXHIBITION
TOMO is a proposed exhibition that represents the Mobility Design Lab’s 20+ years of research projects, and suggests what the lab can do in the future. The Mobility Design Lab is a uniquely situated group of design researchers working across the mobility landscape. Affiliated with the Monash Institute of Transport Studies, the lab is focused on how design might improve the physical, environmental and experiential aspects of mobility.
The concept draws inspiration from a single dot—symbolizing a moment, a point of perception, or an action. When combined, multiple dots form a movement trajectory, evoking the idea of mobility.
The proposed identity focuses on connecting the past, present, and future of the Mobility Design Lab through a graphic-based interpretation: it celebrates past projects as predictable dotted lines, represents present research as a central dot branching into multiple future paths, and visualizes future challenges as unpredictable lines.
